Acelet Filer supports both copy and move actions regardless of the source and destination drive or device are different.
Windows Explorer supports move only if the destination drive is the same as the source driver.When source drive is different from destination drive (for example, you move a file from drive C: to drive D:), Windows Explorer does not support move. This is its shortcoming. Acelet Filer support both copy and move actions for all drives and devices. Please watch the cursor when you use your mouse to drag a file. If you drag a file with the Control key down, it is the copy action and there is a plus sign on the cursor. If you do not press the Control key when you drag, it is move action, there is no plus sign on the cursor.

Acelet Filer prompts a confirmation window for every user writable action, such as copy, move, paste and delete, so you have a chance to cancel if you accidentally started the action. For example, when you drag a file to a different folder, a confirmation window will popup. I, myself, often drag files to a wrong folder accidentally, then regret. With conformation window, I will make less mistakes.

Acelet Filer uses different Recycle Bin
Acelet Filer implements the Trash Specification of FreeDesktop.org. It is very fast. It is for all drives and devices. Windows Explorer does not use Recycle Bin for removable drives.
Acelet Filer uses different way to select and drag
In File Table, the first mouse drag is for selection. All dragged items will be selected. When selected items exist, mouse drag is for dragging. If you want to drag a file to different folder, you need select first, than drag.
Nautilus file manager is a very good file manager on Linux. But, Acelet Filer is more like Windows Explorer of Windows XP, so you do not have to change your finger habits.
Acelet Filer is compatible with Nautilus. For example, they use the same Trash system, although with different implementation.
The hardware requirement is very low. If your computer can run Java, it can run Acelet Filer.
Disk space requirement is low as well: Acelet Filer takes less then 1 MK disk space.
The only software requirement is Java SE 6 (Java Standard Edition 6) or better. Java is a free, open source software. Most likely, it is already installed on your computer. If not, you can download Java SE Development Kit at http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp

For installer
If you get Acelet Filer from downloading, you will get a file acelet-filer-installer_XXX.jar. XXX is the version number, for example, acelet-filer-installer_110.jar. You need to run it:
java -jar acelet-filer-installer_XXX.jar
and follow the instruction to install and run Acelet Filer.
For package deb
Please follow the instruction from your operating system. Acelet Filer package will install for all users.
1. Run Acelet Filer from System Menu
The installation of Acelet Filer adds a menu on the start menu (Windows) or Application menu (Unix). You can click on it to run Acelet Filer. If you use package to install, there will be a setup for each user when it is used the first time. The setup will install a shortcut (icon) on Desktop.
2. Run Acelet Filer from Desktop
The installation of Acelet Filer adds a shortcut (icon) to Desktop. You can click on it to run Acelet Filer.
Use GUI uninstall program
GUI uninstall program are provided. That will uninstall all files, menu items and shortcuts.

To use batch file to uninstall Acelet Filer, run the following programs under user's home directory:
