Team competition tournaments

A team competition tournament is a tournament of two or more camps (teams) for sports like tennis, badminton, pickleball, table tennis. The tournament consists of a few matches for each "meeting". The camp who wins more matches wins the tournament.

For team competition by template, The type of matches (singles or doubles) and the order are specified by a battle-array-template. For example, it can be: Each camp provides a team of players (usually 3 or 5) with order of players, specified as battle-array. The battle-array of each camp must comply to the template specified by the tournament. Then the manager of the tournament makes the draw. The draw arranges matches according to battle-arrays provided by camps. The draw is not random.
The procedure of team competition by template tournament is very simple:
  1. The tournament manager sets up the tournament and event.
  2. Each of two camps registers into the event.
  3. The tournament manager enrols two camps.
  4. Players register into their camps.
  5. The tournament manager makes the draw. That will create all matches.
  6. Players play.
  7. The result will be calculated by the system.

Team competition friendship tournaments

Team competition friendship tournaments are social tournaments. Players register into the tournament with rankings. Ranking is a digital number, with or without decimals. Rankings do not have to be the same format. For example, it can be: Ranking can be your official ranking or self ranking. They are a way to divide all players into different divisions. Players who are with similar ranking will be in a division and play each other. Players play all other players in the same division. Players do not play other players who are in different division. If the division size is 4, then each player plays 3 matches.
Let's see an example. Suppose the tournament format is Team competition friendship 3. "3" means division size is 3. During making draw process, the system sorts all players according to their rating. Support the sorting result is: The first 6 (division size times 2, that is 3x2) players are going to first division. The next 6 players are going to second division. The system randomly divides each division into two camps. Some players go to "Camp A", others go to "Camp B". Which player goes to which camp is not predictable. The system will generate matches, so each player plays every one else in that division.
The tournament manager specifies division size. The tournament manager pushes a button to make the draw. This is social tournaments, All players are doubles players. Players register into an event of tournaments. The number of players must be a multiple of division size and 2.

The total number of persons will be twice of the total number of players. The procedure of team competition friendship tournament is very simple:
  1. The tournament manager sets up the tournament and event.
  2. Players register into the event.
  3. The tournament manager makes the draw. That will create all matches.
  4. Players play.
  5. The result will be calculated by the system. If the scores are the same, a tiebreaker program will calculate every detail, like the tiebreak in round-robin format tournament. If two camps are still tie, team A will win.

Team competition pool-playoffs tournaments

Team competition pool-playoffs format tournaments are pool-playoffs tournaments. The difference from other pool-playoffs is that each "meeting" (competition, battle) is not one match, but a few matches. Each "meeting" is a "team competition by template" event. Team competition pool-playoffs tournament is good for schools to encourage students to be physical active. The template is specified by the tournament manager. The procedure of team competition-pool-playoffs tournaments is:
  1. The tournament manager sets up the tournament and main event
  2. Each camp registers into the main event of the tournament.
  3. The tournament manager enrols camps.
  4. Each player registers into its camp, not the event.
  5. The tournament manager makes the draw. That draw creates all pools and with logical matches. Each "meeting" is an event.
  6. Each camp manager update battle-array just before the draw for a "meeting". Usually camp managers prefer to not keep battle-array the same for all "meetings".
  7. The tournament manager makes the draw for that "meeting".
  8. Players play matches.
  9. The result will be calculated by the system. If the scores are the same for two camps, a tiebreaker program will calculate every detail, like the tiebreak in round-robin format tournament.
  10. When all matches are finished in a pool, the two best camps advance to play-offs.
  11. Advanced camps play single-elimination format playoffs.
